There are three traditional split treatment roles in psychiatry: supervisory, consultative, and collaborative. This module will address the risks associated with each role, the importance of understanding the state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the formation of doctor-patient relationships, providing consultations, and acting in the role of a supervisor, and use case examples to identify risk management strategies to overcome barriers with each relationship.
