The COVID-19 pandemic required office-based addiction medicine providers to rapidly shift clinical practices to accommodate providing care remotely and ushered in regulatory changes to facilitate clinical flexibility. This session will review the regulatory changes authorized under the COVID-19 public health emergency and their implications for office-based addiction medicine practice. Additionally, the session will review clinical best practices in delivering care remotely and best practices in medication management, including toxicology considerations, that balance the importance of patient access, treatment outcomes, and COVID-19 infection risks.
