Description

Panelists will first set the stage by underscoring how the social determinants of health (SDOH) impact the mental health of diverse communities, and then move this discussion towards "next steps". What we need to do is ensure that SDOH are taken into consideration in the mental health arena. This discussion will use an interdisciplinary approach by incorporating a medical, public health and social epidemiological lens to the discussion.

Learning Objectives

Define social determinants of health.
Recognize the consequences of social determinants of health impacting the mental health of diverse communities.
Utilize evidence-based interdisciplinary research and innovated frameworks to address mental health inequities and disparities.
Provide innovative tools and resources to physicians to better serve diverse communities with high-quality patient care and increased access to care.

How to Earn Credit

Participants who wish to earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™ or a certificate of participation may do so by completing all sections of the course including the evaluation. After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate (physicians) or certificate of participation (non-physicians) showing the completion date and hours earned.
