This module focuses on the deposition process and how to prepare for a deposition, from explaining types of depositions, formats of depositions, recommended preparation, role of the plaintiff and defense counsel, use of the medical record and other documents, to what to expect during and after the deposition.

Educational Objectives
- Explain what a deposition is and recognize the difference between a court-ordered deposition, notice of deposition, and subpoena for deposition
- Describe the importance of preparing for a deposition with counsel and the importance of having counsel with you at deposition
- State tips which may be helpful in avoiding some of the potential pitfalls which may impact the defensibility of a case
- Explain the goals of plaintiff’s counsel and highlight examples of responses to questions to avoid potential pitfalls

How to Earn Credit
Participants who wish to earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™ or a certificate of participation may do so by completing all sections of the course including the evaluation. After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate showing the date of completion and hours earned.
