Although physicians have important leadership roles throughout their careers, leadership skills training is limited in medical education settings. Resident physicians can serve a unique peer role in leadership development curricula. In order to address this need, the presenters have each implemented resident-led leadership development initiatives at their own institutions. These initiatives focus on (1) core values in leadership development, (2) communication skills, and (3) growth mind set. In this session, the presenters will participate in examples of these initiatives in order to demonstrate how attendees can implement these programs at their own institutions. Through these leadership development programs, we aim to empower attendees with the knowledge and skills to develop and implement resident-led leadership initiatives at their own institutions.

Participants who wish to earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™ or a certificate of participation may do so by completing all sections of the course including the evaluation. After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate (physicians) or certificate of participation (non-physicians) showing the completion date and hours earned.
