Description
The course will discuss the epidemiology and the evolution of the opioid epidemic in the US, while presenting the challenges of the populations most at risk and the common scenarios that physicians, and especially psychiatrists are faced with in their practice when they encounter patients with these diagnoses. A refresher on intoxication and withdrawal symptoms for OUD will be provided. Importantly, advances and recent research in management strategies will be presented and important points pertinent to the management of patients from different races/ethnicities will be discussed.
Modules must be completed prior to attending the Live Session on September 24, 2024 from 3:15 - 4:15 PM EST.

- Update knowledge most recent statistics related to OUD in the US population and understand what is specific to age groups and races/ethnicities.
