This presentation focuses on one of the most treatable yet undertreated illnesses in adolescent psychiatry: opioid use disorder. Although effective medications exist, fewer adolescents diagnosed with OUD receive medication treatment. We will learn to identify these patients and initiate lifesaving care.

- Jose P. Vito, MD, DFAPA is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and is affiliated with the New York State Office of Mental Health. Dr. Vito earned his medical degree from St. George's University and has extensive experience in psychiatry, with a focus on addiction psychiatry and the treatment of substance use disorders. In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, he has contributed to the medical literature through publications on topics including cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. Dr. Vito is dedicated to advancing evidence-based psychiatric care through clinical practice, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
