  • Use RxforChange, a web-based curriculum to disseminate tobacco treatment training for health care professionals, including specific training for psychiatric settings.

How to Earn Credit

To earn credit for the Tobacco Cessation Self-Assessment, participants must complete all questions and the evaluation and review their score. The minimum performance level requirement is fulfilled by answering all questions and by receipt of a score and peer comparison. This activity is designed to identify areas for improvement and further study; credit will be awarded for completion of the self-assessment.

The answers, rationales, and references for further study are provided. We urge that as a minimum, the rationale for each question answered incorrectly be reviewed. Many participants may wish to review the rationales for all of the multiple-choice questions. Participants will receive a detailed score report and peer comparison online. After completing the course, you can then claim and print your CME/CE certificate.

Continuing Education Credit

In support of improving patient care, American Psychiatric Association (APA) is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The APA designates this live activity for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABPN Approval for MOC Part 2 (Self-Assessment)

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology has reviewed the APA Annual Meeting Self-Assessment in Psychiatry and has approved this program as a part of a comprehensive self-assessment (Part II) program, which is mandated by the ABMS as a necessary component of continuing certification.

APA reports MOC completion data on behalf of our members directly to ABPN, however, diplomates are still required to log on to their ABPN Physician Portal at least once per calendar year to attest to completion of their MOC activities.
