Description 

The overturning of Roe vs. Wade represents one of the most significant legal and social shifts in reproductive rights in modern history. This session will provide an in-depth analysis of the history and impact of abortion legalization, the implications of its reversal on women's mental health, and the broader consequences for reproductive rights and public health.

Through an evidence-based discussion, this session will highlight the increased risks of maternal morbidity and mortality, particularly among marginalized populations, and examine how restrictive abortion laws interfere with access to evidence-based psychiatric and medical care. The session will also explore how psychiatric professionals can adapt to these changes, particularly in providing patient-centered counseling on reproductive planning and mental health care in post-Roe America.

How to Earn Credit 

Participants who wish to earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ may do so after completing all sections of the course including the evaluation. After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate (physicians) or certificate of participation (non-physicians) showing the completion date and hours earned.
