Description
This session explores how the humanities and the arts can serve as powerful educational tools in psychiatry. Drawing on philosophical roots from Aristotle and Plato, the session demonstrates how media, literature, film, and narrative techniques can be used to distill the complexity of human experiences and psychiatric conditions. The session emphasizes the importance of using these mediums to improve engagement with underrepresented populations, reduce stigma, and enrich psychiatric education. Faculty will provide concrete examples of integrating the humanities into curricula and clinical teaching, offering attendees practical strategies to enhance lifelong learning and empathy in practice.

How to Earn Credit
Participants who wish to earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ may do so after completing all sections of the course including the evaluation. After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate (physicians) or certificate of participation (non-physicians) showing the completion date and hours earned.
