Microaggressions based on race, gender identity, and sexual orientation remain a persistent issue in healthcare, affecting both patients and providers. This enduring course explores the origins and contemporary manifestations of microaggressions, analyzing their impact on healthcare access, delivery, and mental health outcomes. Drawing from evidence-based frameworks and lived experiences, the faculty discuss how intersectional identities increase vulnerability to bias, and how subtle forms of discrimination can have significant clinical and systemic effects. The session concludes by empowering learners to implement actionable strategies using the Microaggressions Triangle Model to mitigate harm and advocate for equity in healthcare spaces.

How to Earn Credit
Participants who wish to earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ may do so after completing all sections of the course including the evaluation. After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate (physicians) or certificate of participation (non-physicians) showing the completion date and hours earned.
