How to Earn Credit

Participants who wish to earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™ (physicians) or a certificate of participation (non-physicians) may do so by completing all sections of the course including the evaluation. A multiple-choice quiz is provided based on the content. There is no passing score required for the quiz, and retakes are available. After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate showing the date of completion and hours earned. The credits claimed are automatically recorded in your Learning Center transcript.

Continuing Education Credit

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology has reviewed the Patient Safety in Psychiatry and has approved this program as a Patient Safety(continuing certification) which is mandated by the ABMS as a necessary component of Continuing Certification

APA reports continuing certification completion data on behalf of our members directly to ABPN, however, diplomates are still required by ABPN to log on to their ABPN Physician Portal at least once per calendar year to attest to completion of their continuing certification activities.

In support of improving patient care, APA is jointly accredited by the American Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physicians

The APA designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
