Soon-to-be and graduates of psychiatry residencies and fellowships face a number of challenges as they transition into independent practice. One of these challenges is keeping up with the many requirements of medical practice, including state medical licensure, hospital credentials/privileges, continuing medical education, and continuing certification.

  • Describe the process of maintaining a medical license and how to learn about requirements for the state(s) in which they are practicing.
  • Describe the process of obtaining hospital credentials and associated privileges to practice psychiatry.
  • List the components of continuing certification and options for meeting these requirements.

How to Earn Credit

Participants who wish to earn a certificate of participation may do so by completing all sections of the course including the evaluation. After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to print a certificate of participation showing the event date and hours earned.
