Psychiatry plays an important role in organ transplantation due to the high prevalence in psychiatric illness in medical conditions that lead to the indication for organ transplantation, the negative impact of untreated psychiatric or addictive disorders unpon the medical outcomes after transplantation, and due to the organ shortage. This presentation will discuss the most important aspect of the psychiatric evaluation of organ transplant candidates in the inpatient setting.

After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate (physicians) or certificate of participation (non-physicians) showing the completion date and hours earned.
