Description 

This enduring session explores the intersection of suicide, gun violence, and incarceration in the lives of young Black men. With homicide as the leading cause of death among Black males ages 10–35, this presentation frames gun violence as a public health crisis and analyzes its connections to systemic inequality, including incarceration and suicide-related deaths. Through a multidisciplinary lens, panelists examine public health strategies, mortality reporting mechanisms, and legal responsibilities. The session aims to equip learners with critical tools to understand and mitigate the mental health and systemic harms affecting marginalized communities.

After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate (physicians) or certificate of participation (non-physicians) showing the completion date and hours earned.
