Description 

This inspiring award lecture traces Dr. Bernardo Ng’s extraordinary journey from providing psychiatric care in an underserved rural U.S.-Mexico border community to achieving global leadership in organized psychiatry. Dr. Ng reflects on the clinical, research, and advocacy milestones that shaped his career, the unique challenges and mental health needs faced by Hispanic patients in rural areas, and the transformative impact of collaboration between clinical and academic sites. Participants will gain insight into the value of engaging in organized psychiatry, research initiatives, and leadership at national and international levels to drive systemic improvements in mental healthcare delivery and equity.

After evaluating the program, course participants will be provided with an opportunity to claim hours of participation and print an official CME certificate (physicians) or certificate of participation (non-physicians) showing the completion date and hours earned.
