Dr. Marmar highlights the substantial causal benefits of treatment with Gabapentine Enacarbil Extended-Release (GE-XR) for a specific subset of patients predicted to be likely responders. The talk emphasizes the innovative likely responder statistical paradigm as a promising approach for analyzing randomized clinical trials, contributing to the evolution of personalized treatment methodologies. Shifting focus to the realm of alcohol use disorder (AUD), Dr. Sugarman explores the potential of digital interventions to overcome barriers to treatment for women with AUD and co-occurring disorders. By offering an accessible and cost-effective alternative to traditional in-person services, digital interventions emerge as a transformative solution. Dr. Sugarman's presentation delves into research on a gender-specific digital intervention tailored to address the unique challenges faced by women in their journey towards recovery. In the field of addiction psychiatry, Dr. Diaz Granados introduces the concept of precision medicine as a valuable tool for identifying dysfunctional domains that can be targeted in treatment. The Addiction Neuroclinical Assessment, evaluating incentive salience, negative emotionality, and executive functioning, becomes a pivotal framework. Driven by an understanding of individual variations in these domains, the presentation proposes tailoring interventions based on patients' specific functional or dysfunctional profiles, paving the way for more effective and personalized addiction treatments.
