Emerging Topics Webinar Series

Stay up to date on important topics and trends impacting psychiatry by participating in APA's new Emerging Topics Webinar Series. Presented by specialists across the field, these monthly webinars will explore a range of diverse, pertinent topics and offer a chance to interact with peers and subject matter experts. 

This webinar will cover the latest advancements in medication management for obesity, specifically for psychiatric practice. The speaker will review current pharmacological treatments, including newly approved medications, and their applications in managing obesity. Attendees will learn about the safety, efficacy, and psychiatric considerations when prescribing these medications. The session will also explore how to integrate these treatments into a comprehensive care plan addressing both physical and mental health. By the end, participants will be equipped with the latest knowledge to improve outcomes in obesity management for psychiatric patients.

Live, interactive webinar

1.5 hours of virtual, synchronous learning.

This activity will consist of a live, online lecture (approximately 75 minutes), a question/answer session or discussion (15 minutes), followed by independent completion of an online survey to claim 1.5 CME credit.
